VeltHaven glazed garden room with anthracite frame and sliding glass front in a landscaped British garden Visualisation

Garden Rooms

Garden rooms you'll use every day of the year.

A made-to-order, insulated garden room at the bottom of your garden — your choice of size, colour and specification, installed by our own team, without the cost, mess or months of a house extension. A wall of glass at the front, windows down each side, and a warm, quiet, light-filled space inside. Somewhere to work, train, create, or simply escape to.

Free to design · ~5 minutes · fixed price online — no site visit needed.

What people use them for

A home office that isn't the kitchen table. A gym you'll actually walk to. A studio for art, music or yoga. A treatment room. A teenager's retreat. A garden lounge with the doors slid fully open in summer. One building, finished to a standard that adds to your home rather than sitting apart from it.

What makes it a room, not a shed

The glazed front

The full front is a four-panel sliding glass wall — two fixed panes and two that slide open — so the garden comes inside when you want it and the light never stops. Large windows on each side keep the space bright from every angle. Slim anthracite frames throughout, glazed to a premium thermal standard so the room stays comfortable in deep winter and high summer alike.

See it from every angle

Inside and out

The same insulated, glazed room works as an office, a gym or a retreat. Here is how it looks inside, and from the garden.

How it's built

Built from 100 mm PIR sandwich panels

Behind the glazed front, the solid walls and roof are single insulated panels — two steel skins bonded to a rigid PIR foam core and locked together with a concealed tongue-and-groove joint. 100 mm PIR core · steel skin both sides · wall U-value 0.23 W/m²K.

The Core specification

Every room starts with the Core shell

Core is an insulated, glazed shell — ready for your fit-out. The floor, power, lighting and heating that make it move-in ready come with Signature and Executive, in the ladder below.

  • Insulated steel structure — 100 mm PIR walls and roof for genuine year-round comfort
  • Single flat mono-pitch roof with a gentle fall to the rear — gutters and downpipes included
  • Triple-glazed four-panel sliding glass wall — two sliding, two fixed — anthracite frames
  • Two triple-glazed windows — one each side
  • Your choice of exterior colour from the 10-colour RAL palette — anthracite RAL 7016 as standard
  • Structural floor base, delivery, installation & VAT — all included. VeltHaven 10-Year Structural Warranty (2 years full warranty + structural cover to year 10). Does not affect your statutory rights.

The floor — included from Signature

Premium acoustic oak-effect vinyl

Warm, quiet underfoot and built for a room you'll actually live in — not a cold concrete slab. The acoustic backing absorbs impact noise; the wear layer shrugs off garden mud. Fitted as standard on Signature and Executive.

Glazing & doors

Precision glazing, built for the British climate

The full front is a triple-glazed sliding glass wall on a 76 mm 6-chamber insulated frame with a warm-edge spacer — a whole-window U-value (Uw) of 0.76 W/m²K. Two sliding panes, two fixed, and a triple-glazed window on each side: engineered to hold a comfortable temperature through a British winter, and CE-marked to the relevant EN standards.

About planning

Whether a studio needs planning permission depends on its size, where it sits in your garden, and how you'll use it. Garden rooms follow the same outbuilding rules as garages — usually permitted development when set back from your boundaries, with planning needed if closer than 2 m and over 2.5 m tall (or in a protected area). We assess yours as part of the design and tell you clearly what's required before you commit. Read our planning guide →

What's included / what's separate

Included: the finished, insulated, glazed and powered building, delivery, installation, VAT, and the structural warranty. Quoted separately after your site photos: the level base/groundwork it sits on, and any additional electrical connection work — always confirmed before you commit.
